Classes are open to all levels (see recommendations in below in each description). Please inform your instructor about any health issues you have prior to starting your workout.

There is a maximum of 10 participants for all group mat classes. Private or semi-private mat classes are available upon request

FLUIDITY: There's a new barre' in town...Barrington Pilates is excited to offer its newest group mat class. This one hour Pilates workout challenges your balance, strength and flexibility. Feel as strong and long as a ballerina at the ballet barre', challenge your center with a standing Pilates series and end with a core challenge and stretch. All levels welcome.

FLOW:
Flow is Barrington Pilates' signature class. This is a one hour standing Pilates workout that challenges your balance, strength and flexibility. Feel as long as a ballerina and as stong as a professional athlete all in one class. The ultimate combination of strength and fluidity. All levels welcome.


MAT: A one hour Pilates class that will teach you the basic principles and fundamentals of Pilates, while engaging your core and lengthening and toning your muscles. This class will incorporate the breath and establish a mind-body connection. In this class we will integrate flexibility and strength while using a varitey of Pilates props. All levels welcome.

MAT CHALLENGE: Take our MAT class and kick it up a knotch! All levels welcome.

POWERHOUSE: A one hour mat class that will take you through the best of CORE, STRENGTH and SPORT. Guaranteed to make you sweat and work your entire body. Intermediate to Advanced levels.

CORE AND STRETCH: A unique one hour mat Pilates class that focuses on building core strength from the inside out. Concentrating on proper form and Pilates technique, core training will improve your balance, muscle endurance and posture. This class uses the Pilates magic circle, the foam roller, and therabands to strengthen and lengthen the core muscles. CORE is a great compliment to your reformer or mat class workouts. All levels welcome.

CORE 101: A one hour mat class open to all levels - beginners welcome! This class will focus on incorporating the mat fundamentals to build a deeper connection with your core structure. CORE 101 uses the Pilates magic circle, the foam roller, and therabands to stregthen and lengthen the body. A great class to compliment your reformer or CIRCUIT program.

CO-ED CORE: A one hour mat class for both men and women, focusing on building core strength and flexibility. CO-ED CORE will address many issues pertaining to both women and men, including muscle tightness, improper posture and poor balance. This class will be sure to challenge the beginner to the elite athlete.

PILATES COMBO: A one hour class that will combine standing Pilates exercises from FLOW with the intensity of the CORE mat work. The focus will be on body weight resistance, balance and deep abdominal connection. This class is open to all levels - beginners welcome.

MAT CLASSIC: A one hour traditional Pilates mat class, based on the original matwork exercises, initially named Contrology by Joseph Pilates. This class will teach you the basic fundamentals of Pilates, incorporating stretching, toning and lengthening of the muscles. All levels welcome.

STRENGTH: A one hour class that will kick your Pilates workout up a knotch. Using 3 lb handweights and therabands, this class focuses on upper body sculpting, the holding of positions and strength challenges, while maintaining proper Pilates form and control. All levels welcome.

SPORT: A one hour class that will challenge your inner athlete by adding rotation and speed to standing Pilates exercises. This workout will have you performing traditional lunges, plyometrics, jump backs, squats and upper body movements while maintaining your Pilates core structure. This is one of our more challenging classes and is guaranteed to make you sweat! This is an intermediate to advanced class.





Pilates Mat Class

For all group classes, mats and any necessary props are available and complimentary. If you choose to bring your own top mat, you are welcome to.

Refreshing and detoxifying green tea is complimentary after your workout to enhance your pilates experience.

Bottled water is available for $1.00

Socks are required to be worn at all times while at Barrington Pilates.
